The Health Department has become the most powerful institution in the city, guided by ruthless altruism, messianic works, and structural perfection. Marq is one of its many drones, but in a year of chaos and transformation he will lose his best friend to ritual suicide, hunt the murderous resurrection of Genghis Khan, commune with some kind of god, and act upon the secret love he carries for his boss.

The main draft of this novel was completed in 2018. It is not a comment on the current world, if anything, the current world is a comment on this book.
